Very Important! Contract Fire Regulations

As you are no doubt aware, any upholstered furnishing placed into any contract environment must comply with BS5852 Part 2, ignition source 5 (Crib 5). This is obligatory and all of CPW Contracts upholstery meets with these requirements.
There are many suppliers of contract upholstery that do not fulfill this obligation and buyers should always question the supplier and if necessary ask for the relevant certification.
You should be aware of your obligation to ensure when fitting out any contract environment to meet these standards. We now have in the UK, very stringent rules and regulations to ensure the safety of the general public. Failure to comply with this legislation can lead to serious legal consequences and in the worst possible scenario Corporate Manslaughter.
The smoking ban has made no difference whatsoever to this legislation.
Furnishings obtained from domestic retail sources, although bearing fire labels to a domestic standard of cigarette and match, are unlikely to meet the required BS5852 Part 2, ignition source 5 (Crib 5) fire retardency.

Our in house manufacturing and upholstery workshops enable us to produce bespoke one-off pieces of furniture and made-to-measure seating units to meet customers requirements. We offer a wide variety of designs in numerous fabrics, leathers and faux leathers, or even in Customers Own Material (fabric must meet crib 5 fire regulations). A variety of upholstery styles are available including plain, fluted, shallow or deep buttoned backs, and horizontal back rolls. All of the seating is produced by highly skilled craftsman at our own premises in Rye. All frames are of a solid timber construction, combined with contract quality, crib 5 foams and fabrics, to ensure our seating is manufactured to the highest possible standard.
